PJ City condemn UiTM to lower league

KUALA LUMPUR: Petaling Jaya City kicked UiTM down to the Premier League with a 1-0 win at the MBPJ Stadium last night.

The university side's demotion from the Super League is confirmed despite two games remaining - against Kedah and Sri Pahang.

PJ City striker Khyril Muhymeen sealed UiTM's fate after firing the ball home from a cross by P. Rajes in the 39th minute.

Following the win, PJ City are eighth in the table with 21 points from 21 games.

At KLFA Stadium, KL City brought down high flying Kedah with a 2-1 win. A controversial call by the linesman in the sixth minute saw the City boys getting a penalty when Kedah's Loqman Hakim Marzuki handled the ball. Romel Morales fired home from the spot for a 1-0 lead.

KL City captain Safee Sali doubled their score in the 26th minute after J. Partiban's cross from the far right of the field found the former.

Kedah pulled one back in the 34th minute after Tchetche Kipre pounced on the ball off a corner kick.

Kedah suffered their first defeat in five games, but they stay in second place on the table with remaining games against UiTM and Melaka.

Johor Darul Ta'zim, who have already sealed their eighth consecutive league title, beat Terengganu 1-0 with a goal from Australian Shane Lowry just before halftime.
